DAVID: “So, wait. When you say ‘loading a clip’ do you mean loading bullets into the clip or loading the clip into the gun?”

MATT: “Either one.”

DAVID: “That seems like the kind of things you’d want to have two completely different ways of saying.”

MATT: [grumpy look]

DAVID: [hands palm out, eyes closed] “I’m just saying, as a writer.”

MATT: “I’m not caring, as a shooter.”

Son: “What’s that supposed to mean?”

Father: “When I got a real job, a grown-up job, I left the polit—”

Son: “Got it. Leave the politics at home.”

Father: “No, you don’t ‘got it.’ I’m saying leave the politics in childhood, where it belongs.”
